Fictional Veep Selina Meyer (Julia Louis-Dreyfus) and Actual Veep Joe Biden teamed up for the LOLs in a clip shown at the White House Correspondents’ Dinner last night — and it’s kind of hard to pick the best bit.
Set the day of the dinner, which both decided to ditch (“I’ve been there once, it’s a bunch of politicians trying to explain politics to Hollywood,” quips Biden), it follows the pair as they zip around Washington in a bright yellow Corvette. They sneak into the White House, get busted eating ice cream by a very disappointed Michelle Obama, break into Jeff Bezo’s office to hack the news, suffer through a fairly weak Koch brothers joke from Nancy Pelosi, and get matching #45 tattoos (Obama is President #44).
At one point, Dreyfus interrupts an important panda viewing of House Speaker John Boehner, and at another she takes a dig at House of Cards: “Yes, we can all look directly into the camera, Kevin,” she drawls, with a southern twang. “The problem is you’re not supposed to.” BOOM.
