To be a young person in Australia, is to spend a lot of money (sometimes too much money) going to music festivals. But what if you could have the gig experience, while putting your dough behind a good cause? Like fighting poverty?

“It can’t be done!” I hear you say. Well, shut up for a second and I’ll explain how it’s possible.

OXJAM is a nation-wide series of shows that raises money to help Oxfam fight poverty around the world and in August, it will be returning to Australia. They are giving punters the chance to create DIY music show and through their ‘Win a Headliner’ competition, three lucky humans will be getting the chance to run a party featuring hip-hop kings One Day, Brisbane indie-poppers Cub Sport or Sydney’s PVT playing a set at their event. All gig makers also have a chance at winning a JB Hi-Fi DJ and acoustics packs valued at $500 each.

All you need to do to enter is to register your OXJAM party on their website, and you’ll go into the draw to ramp your party up to 11. Last year 12,000 partygoers attended more than 180 OXJAM gigs across the nation, raising thousands of dollars for Oxfam Australia.Throw a gig, change the world!

You can find more details on the OXJAM website.
