Please Enjoy This Round-Up Of Musicians Rejoicing To The Yes Vote Verdict
Ricky Martin's joy is our joy.
Well, it’s finally done.
This morning, after tallying up more than 12.7 million votes, the Australian Bureau of Statistics announced that the Yes side had won the postal survey on marriage equality 61.6 percent to 38.4 percent.
The victory was met with elation across the country, with thousands turning out at Sydney’s Prince Alfred Park and Melbourne’s State Library to hear the results announced.
The victory has been reverberating across the internet ever since, and musicians from all over the globe are sending their congratulations and love (so, so much love) Down Under.
Please enjoy this round-up of the happiest reactions out there — Cher hasn’t tweeted about the Yes Vote yet, but it’s only a matter of time.

Australians, we got it right. A massive relief & vindication for dear family members, friends and the community #marriageequaility – now for contructive, reasonable legislation. And no discrimination.

WOW. 80% of our nation participated in an optional postal vote (think about that) on same sex marriage. & equality has prevailed. Big up to the homeland for the right call ?<3 ??
