‘The Mummy’ Revival Looks Like A Midlife Crisis, But Good Luck With It Anyway

The Mummy was a film franchise that helped propel The Rock to movie stardom, and for that I will always be thankful. But did it need to be revived for a new generation of movie-goers? I’m not sure.
Well whatever, because we’re getting a new Mummy movie anyway, this time starring two actors who would have laughed out loud at the suggestion of appearing in the original movie back in 1999. Hey, it’s Tom Cruise and Russell Crowe!
The film involves Tom Cruise battling an evil ancient princess and judging by the teaser, it may not “scare the shit out of you” like Russell Crowe has promised, but could be fun monster movie that provides a rollicking good time. It does seem weird for sure, but let’s hope for the best!
