China’s most popular reality dating show, If You Are The One, has a sizeable cult following in Australia. It’s based on a defunct Channel Ten show, Taken Out, and Australians have featured on the show before, but most people like it simply because it is fucking brutal.

Given IYATO‘s popularity here, the show’s producers announced they were looking for Australian contestants back in September. Auditions have started, with contestants vying to be one of the selectees lucky enough to be flown to Nanjing and reduced to a lump of quivering goo by a panel of brutally honest Chinese women.

To commemorate the occasion, host Meng Fei sat down with SBS icon and beer-fuelled vortex of mayhem Lee Lin Chin to discuss romance, being semi-famous, and why no man on Earth is good enough for Lee Lin Chin.

Pray they do a celebrity episode where Lee Lin Chin just destroys a succession of inadequate men. It would be wonderful.
