Just So You’re Aware, Nick Offerman and Megan Mullally Still Have Plenty Of Sex
Good to know.
Logically, I understand that Nick Offerman and Ron Swanson aren’t actually the same person. One is an actor, while the other is a fictional character the actor played on Parks and Recreation. And yet any time Offerman says pretty much anything, I find it impossible not to conflate the two in my mind.
In my defence, it doesn’t help that Offerman is actually married to Megan Mullally, who played Swanson’s sex-crazed ex-wife Tammy. The pair are currently travelling around the US with their comedy tour Summer Of 69: No Apostrophe, and in case the name doesn’t give it away, the show features a great deal of material about their sex life. As Offerman told the A.V. Club, “if you are familiar with simple arithmetic, it doesn’t take long to discern it’s a show about performing oral sex on one another.”
You can’t fake that kind of passion.
“Look, I’m 46, Megan’s 57, and we have a happy marriage,” Offerman said. “We get it on with each other and we feel very celebratory about that. We don’t feel ostentatious. We don’t go make out in front of people at the mall but we will happily sing songs about it and trumpet the fact that we simply are happy in middle age as a loving couple.”
“I do think there’s a real ageism in our business where if you’re over 35 you’re not supposed to ever kiss anybody with tongue.”
