Hollywood insider site The Tracking Board is reporting that Jennifer Lawrence is at the top of the list of actors being considered for a major role in the next Ocean’s Eleven heist movie. It’s being directed by Gary Ross, who also directed Lawrence in The Hunger Games, and will star Sandra Bullock as the sister of Danny Ocean (as played by George Clooney in the previous three Ocean’s flicks). Bullock will play an ex-con who assembles a team of thieves to pinch a valuable necklace during the Met Gala, and Lawrence is being considered for the role of her right-hand woman.

As The Tracking Board points out, replacing the men of the Ocean’s Eleven films with women would put the film alongside the Ghostbusters remake and a planned Expendables sequel as another Hollywood movie giving women the opportunity to play roles that would previously have belonged to men.

The original Ocean’s 11 had room for Angie Dickinson in its cast, and the 2001 remake squeezed in Julia Roberts, so maybe there will be room for one token dude in this one so that the angry internet men can have something to placate them.
