Remember that time in 2008, when the then-Alaskan Governor Sarah Palin gave a press conference at a turkey farm? And — as is bizarre tradition with many governors, and even the President — pardoned a local bird from being killed and eaten?

And then gave a speech about the campaign trail, the budget, oil, and her future plans? But did it while standing in front of a man who was shoving live turkey after live turkey head-first into a kill cone?

“This was neat! I was happy to get invited to participate in this!” she said, as a live turkey was being decapitated behind her.

“You need a little bit of levity in this job!” she laughed, as another live turkey was being decapitated behind her.

Warning: the footage is grizzly.
