If you grew up watching Sesame Street then you might want to brace yourself. Because after watching the trailer for The Happytime Murders, you’ll never be able to look at a Muppet again.
There is a lot to process here. From a toy goat getting its head blown off by a shotgun, to a strung-out felt rodent offering to suck Melissa McCarthy’s dick, it’s seems like this movie has more in common with Team America than Muppets Most Wanted. That’s despite the fact that it was directed by Brian Henson, who previously made The Muppet Christmas Carol and Muppet Treasure Island and is the son of Muppet creator Jim Henson.
Dude clearly has some stuff to work through, is all I’m saying.
Aside from McCarthy, The Happytime Murders stars Maya Rudolph, Joel McHale and Leslie David Baker, aka Stanely from The Office.
The Happytime Murders hits cinemas in Australia on September 6.
