Gwyneth Paltrow Furiously Denies She’s “Becky With The Good Hair”
Amber Rose pointed the finger at the Goop entrepreneur.
It’s the question that has taunted music fans since 2016: just who is the real Becky With The Good Hair?
Becky, of course, was the name Beyoncé gave to the woman who her husband, Jay-Z, was cheating on her with, as mentioned in the Lemonade track ‘Sorry’: “They sneaking out the back door / He only want me when I’m not there / He better call Becky with the good hair.”
The line set the cat amongst the proverbial pigeons in 2016, with many speculating that Becky could be fashion designer Rachel Roy (not to be confused with celebrity chef Rachael Ray, who was unjustly bombarded by angry Beyoncé fans before they realised their mistake), or even British singer Rita Ora.
Not even ‘Sorry’ songwriter Diana Gordon’s interjection that Becky wasn’t about anyone in particular could quell the hunt. And now, a new — and slightly bizarre, let’s be honest — suspect has been pushed into the spotlight.
A couple of days ago, model Amber Rose appeared on “Make Speidi Famous Again,” , the popular podcast hosted by former The Hills stars Spencer and Heidi Pratt. Out of nowhere, Rose dropped the bombshell that that she thought that actress, singer, and Goop head honcho Gwyneth Paltrow was the real Becky With The Good Hair.
“I definitely think that Gwyneth Paltrow is Becky with the good hair,” Rose told Pratt and Spencer. “I really feel like she’s the one who was, like, fucking Jay-Z.”
“They were like friends, and then, like, you don’t see Gwyneth Paltrow with Beyoncé anymore. And Gwyneth lost her husband, but like Beyonce’s still with Jay,” she continued. “I’m surprised no one thought of that.”
Rose stressed that this was all just her own speculation, but she maintained that she thought it was the truth. In response, a rep for Paltrow hastily shut down the rumour, telling The Blast, “It is completely absurd and 100 percent false.” Another source told People that Paltrow and Bey are still close friends.
As with all the other supposed Beckys, it’s impossible to tell whether this is actually true — although it’s wild to think that Jay-Z would have an affair with the person who recorded ‘Cruisin’ with Huey Lewis.
