Some people say that TV is too dark. For some reason they think our obsession with brooding men, horrific dystopias, and Machiavellian schemes has created an overwhelmingly bleak environment where showrunners feel the need to one-up themselves with drama and trauma; where audiences need intense twists and more devastating turns.

Sometimes I protest this because hey, Kimmy Schmidt exists and Aziz Ansari has a show about being a cutie eating pasta! Are things really all that bad? On the other hand, I just watched 150,966 people (and animals) die in 20 straight minutes and feel weirdly numb about it. There’s a good chance Game of Thrones has broken my brain.

The above video, made by GoT fan Leon Andrew Razon, compiles every single death in all six seasons of the blockbuster HBO drama — from unlucky pigeons to inhuman boy kings. It is wonderful and terrible. It is one of this fandom’s most impressive feats and also our greatest shame. I don’t know what to feel anymore.

Game of Thrones is back for lots more murders from July 16.
