Now this is a supergroup we could get behind.

During their set at California’s CalJam festival over the weekend, the Foo Fighters pulled up Liam Gallagher and Aerosmith guitarist Joe Perry for an impromptu rendition of The Beatles’ classic ‘Come Together’.

All parties gave the iconic track a red hot crack — even Gallagher, who in a rare display of enthusiasm dived headlong into the crowd for a surf at the end of the song. Perhaps a nice cup of backstage tea gave him some energy?

Gallagher and Perry weren’t the only guests to join the Foos on stage. Earlier in their set Dave Grohl and band invited ’80s singer Rick Astley up for a mashup of his meme hit ‘Never Gonna Give You Up’ with Nirvana’s ‘Smells Like Teen Spirit’ — which was pretty much as bizarre as it sounds.

They also brought up The Kills’ singer Alison Mosshart for a turn on their Concrete And Gold track ‘La Dee Da’.
