When someone makes the arguably insane choice to devote their life to an artistic pursuit, they should probably relax into the fact that their work might never get noticed, let alone pay the bills. While some argue that the Internet has given the artist access to audiences in a way that didn’t exist last century, others believe that the ever-growing mass of online content makes finding access to a thriving creative life akin to searching for a needle in a cloud-reaching mountain of hay.
Whichever way you cut it, plenty of young Australians are flying in the face of that daunting proposition and making their original work stand out amongst all this bloody competition. They’ve refused to travel down the path of convention, and by following their own artistic instincts, have become sought-after forces in their respective mediums.
