The promotional campaign for Deadpool 2 has been a wild fucking ride. From starting a feud with Eurovision to having their hero grace the cover of Good Housekeeping, the filmmakers have done everything short of recording a novelty single with a pop music icon to get people to buy a ticket, and… wait, no, sorry, they did they too.

In any case, the movie is in theatres this week, and in one final push to get you to go and see it, its foul-mouthed protagonist crashed Tuesday night’s episode of The Late Show with Stephen Colbert and hijacked the opening monologue.

“You’re not gonna believe this but Donald Trump is in the news,” said the superhero, after wresting control of the program from its host. “The administration is still dealing with the fallout from announcing that the U.S. will be pulling out of the Iran deal. It’s Trump’s biggest pulling out blunder since Eric.”

“President Trump spent the day complaining on Twitter about leaks inside the White House,” he continued. “We all know Trump prefers his leaks in Russian hotel rooms.”

“You get it Stephen? Coz the president watched two Russian prostitutes urinate on a hotel mattress,” the superhero added.

“Allegedly,” replied Colbert.

“Right, right, allegedly,” Deadpool agreed. “It could have been three prostitutes.”

The gatecrasher also took a pot shot at Ryan Reynolds, joking that the actor was a “huge asshole” and “the poor man’s version of Ryan Reynolds”. On the other hand, it turns out he’s a big fan of Jamie Foxx, telling Colbert that he “loved his work in Back to the Future“.

Unfortunately, Deadpool’s time on the show was cut short courtesy of the villain from a rival Marvel movie. Thor really should have aimed for the head.

You can watch Deadpool’s entire appearance on The Late Show below.
