In case you some how managed to miss it, a preposterously wealthy baby was born earlier this week to a life of wearing pretty dresses, waving at things, and being pressured by patriarchy to just generally stay out of trouble.

The baby is pretty cute, sure, but she kind of just looks like all other babies at this point — making the real star of the show 80-year-old Tony Appleton: the “self-appointed” town crier who popped up on the Lindo wing steps in London to deliver news as irrelevant to global politics as the role of town crier itself.

Want to know a little more about this rare breed of news folk?

Look no further than David Attenborough, who hosts a special documentary on the species in a piece of footage found by Junkee’s favourite video artist, Huw Parkinson.

Tiny tiny. Big eyes. Small ears. And a wet nose.
