Confirmed: Young Dumbledore Will Be In ‘Fantastic Beasts And Where To Find Them 2’
He'll appear alongside Newt Scamander and...um...Johnny Depp.
Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them isn’t even out yet, and Warner Brothers are already making plans for the sequel. We know that J.K. Rowling has mapped out the story for four additional films, and that Johnny Depp has reportedly been cast in part two. People were fairly ambivalent about that first piece of news, and had somewhat stronger feelings about the second one.
Johnny Depp Has Been Cast In ‘Fantastic Beasts’ And People Are Not Happy About It
But here’s a piece of news that pretty much all Potter fans should be happy to hear: according to director David Yates, the next Fantastic Beasts film will feature none other than Albus Percival Wulfric Brian Dumbledore.
“In the second movie Dumbledore comes back,” said Yates at a recent press junket, according to Screen Rant. “He’s got a couple of good scenes with Newt.”
The director also said that they were currently discussing who would play the iconic wizard, and quipped that “any suggestions would be good.” Two words mate: Tom Hiddleston.
Whoever ends up being cast, there’s a good chance they’ll also share screen time with Depp, who rumour suggests will be playing dark wizard Gillert Grindelwald, who Dumbledore was in love with.
My Dumbledore/Grindelwald make out fantasies don’t want to put Johnny Depp in the picture.
