According to esteemed medical journal Wikipedia, childhood amnesia is “the inability of adults to retrieve episodic memories before the age of 2–4 years.” In the first few years of life, the limbic system in the brain — which is where the memories sit — has not yet been fully developed.
The implications? The birthday party Beyonce and Jay-Z threw for a two-year-old Blue Ivy at a tricked-out private wildlife park — featuring a tiger, a monkey, a lemur, a snake, facepainting, popcorn and Destiny’s Child — will forever be lost to the recesses of her mind.
