Beyonce and husband Jay-Z have collaborated on new album Everything Is Love — which was sneakily dropped just a few hours ago.

We received the first clue of new music when Beyonce revealed a part of the music video for the track Ape Shit, which was shot at The Louvre.

Two years ago, Beyonce dropped the audiovisual phenomenon Lemonade, which many suspect discussed Jay-Z’s infidelity. Jay-Z’s most recent solo album, 4:44, was seen as a response to Lemonade: in it, he all but said that he had in fact cheated on his wife.

The album has nine tracks all up, and has been exclusively released on Tidal.

Oh, and also — Beyonce raps.

It got Twitter frothing:

In an interview with the New York Times, Jay-Z talked about the process of creating the joint album:

“It happened — we were using our art almost like a therapy session. And we started making music together,” he told reporter Dean Baquet.

“And then the music she was making at that time was further along. So her album came out as opposed to the joint album that we were working on. Um, we still have a lot of that music. And this is what it became. There was never a point where it was like, ‘I’m making this album.’ I was right there the entire time.”

He continued:

“[I was] really proud of the music she made, and she was really proud of the art I released. And, you know, at the end of the day we really have a healthy respect for one another’s craft. I think she’s amazing.

“You know, most people walk away, and like divorce rate is like 50 percent or something ’cause most people can’t see themselves. The hardest thing is seeing pain on someone’s face that you caused, and then have to deal with yourself.”

Beyonce and Jay-Z have been married for over ten years, and have three children — Blue Ivy, Sir and Rumi.
