Azealia Banks Is Very Angry With Iggy Azalea In The Aftermath Of Eric Garner’s Killer Not Getting Indicted

"Igloo Australia" is a pretty good burn.

Iggy Azalea is a controversial figure, to say the least; as Luke Pearson pointed out on Twitter earlier today, she doesn’t have the greatest track record when it comes to promoting black culture, no matter what country it’s in.

In the wake of the deaths of two black men at the hands of police — Michael Brown in Ferguson, Missouri, and Eric Garner in New York — and neither case even resulting in an indictment for the officer responsible, Azealia Banks has taken to Twitter calling Iggy out for appropriating “black culture” while ignoring “black issues”. She did not hold back.

“Igloo Australia”. God damn. That is inspired.

But Banks wasn’t done.

Since a grand jury decided not to indict the officer who killed Eric Garner earlier today, Banks has been vocal in her condemnation of the decision, and has called for a serious revisiting of the way black culture is discussed and perceived, particularly in schools and the media (I recommend going and having a read of her Twitter feed; I won’t embed them all here because formatting, but she says some seriously though-provoking stuff).

Getting back to Iggy Azalea specifically, things got a bit weird.

Why not just piss? Why do you have to mix it with “mayo and eggs”? Are we making a piss salad? Because I thought we all agreed not to do that. Igloo seemed nonplussed.
