Australia’s Most Searched Recipes Of 2016 Is A Hilarious Display Of Bland, Doughy Whiteness
Both figuratively and literally.
This is something white people know to be true: there’s a long history of us eating very bland, doughy foods. We love them! Give me something the shade of off-milk, with the consistency of a dense sponge, yum yum.
Judging by the Google Trends data of the most searched recipes of 2016, this year Australians of different races and creeds truly embraced sweetened breads and creamy, egg-y dishes in every shade of white you can think of. So, what was the most searched recipe of 2016? PANCAKES!
And the second most searched? CARBONARA!
The rest of the list includes other combinations of flour and milk in various pale shades, including scones, quiches, cheesecake and crepes. The times that the list does deviate from those bland clouds, are with a couple of light brown and extremely soft foodstuffs like banana bread and chocolate mousse. Strangely, Heston’s MasterChef egg didn’t make the cut!
Still super mad at that clown.
