Two months ago, we joined forces with the trip experts at Contiki to ask for your best travel moments as captured on a smartphone camera, and hoo boy didn’t you all rise to the occasion! With the help of pro travel photographers Jarrad Seng and Melissa Findley, we admired thousands of stunning photos to find the best of the best.

For us, Sydneysider Brittney Rigby’s stellar safari landscape (complete with adorable elephants) shone through. Check out her winning image for yourself:

– Lake Kariba – Zimbabwe – February 2016 – I spy with my little eye, something that looks a whole lot like five elephants? ????? Missing being on a boat on an African lake, watching animals laze around on the shore, the water glassy, the sky clear. No phone reception, no wifi, just conversation, books, spotting hippos or alligators or elephants just like these beauties. We asked Brittney to tell us a bit more about her winning phoneographer moment:

We spent three days aboard a house boat on Lake Kariba. We had no phone reception, no internet, and in our time on its waters, there was barely sign of other human life. We spotted this herd of elephants on the opposite shore; they stayed for hours. The reflection of the sky proved just as beautiful, and in one moment, Africa was on display in all its glory. In that moment on Lake Kariba, I was home. And it was picture perfect.
