People Are Freaking Out Over A Mysterious Metal Slab Discovered In The Utah Desert
2020 doesn't need a mysterious monolith in the mix.
In a remote part of Utah, a giant metal monolith was found, and no one knows where it came from.
A Utah Department of Public Safety helicopter crew was on a mission counting bighorn sheep, and instead came across a 10-12 foot tall 3 sided metal structure resembling a monolith.
The area the object was found in was described as rugged and rocky, hard to even get to either by foot or by vehicle, which would make bringing something of this size and weight down here and installing it would be an pretty hard task.

The Department posted photos of the structure — and the sheep — on social media, captioning one of the posts “The ram was as puzzled at it’s presence as we were. The Utah Department of Public Safety issued a press release with more pictures.”
They suspect the structure was probably an art installation: “you know, some new wave artist or something, or somebody that was just a big ‘2001: A Space Odyssey’ fan,” a link which many of the movie’s fans have already made. The movie featured a similar monolith in a famous scene, where a group of apes encounter it.

So far, no artist or alien has come forward to claim this as their doing.
