It is complete and utter chaos.

Last week, triple j announced they’d be holding the first ever ‘Requestival’, based on a simple idea: From 6am to 9pm every day, the only songs broadcast will be ones requested by listeners.

To get your song on the radio, all you have to do is request the track through the triple j app, and share a bit about why you desperately want to get it on the station.

“Relive a memory, give a shoutout, share a secret, tell us about the time you [redacted] to that track, or just make your case for why the nation simply MUST hear this song like THREE MINUTES AGO,” triple j urged listeners last week.

It was clear from the outset this would be complete, wonderful chaos — and, so far, it has been. Since it kicked off yesterday morning, Requestival has been all over the bloody shop, with songs from Black Eyed Peas and Ariana Grande bumping up against Beethoven and Earth, Wind & Fire and Kate Bush.

Hell, even the Spice Girls got a run — and rightly so.

Scroll down to see some of the best songs to make it on the airwaves. And keep the requests coming — personally, we’ll be requesting ‘Poison’ by Bardot.

You simply love to see it.
