Last week, triple j handed the keys to the station to listeners for the first ever Requestival. From Monday to Sunday, from 6am to 9pm, every song blared out by the youth broadcaster was chosen by you, the people. Needless to say, the results were unhinged.

Last Thursday, halfway through the festival, triple j announced it had already received over 73,000 requests, for everything from Beethoven, to Ariana Grande and Kylie Minogue and Dua Lipa, to The Simpsons’ ‘See My Vest’, to John Williams’ iconic ‘Duel Of The Fates’ from Star Wars. Someone even requested John Cena’s ‘Entrance Theme (The Time Is Now)’.

Taylor Swift was finally served justice when ‘Shake It Off’ was played on Friday afternoon, more than five years after being unceremoniously disqualified from the Hottest 100 — and theatre kids around the country rejoiced with ‘Defying Gravity’ from Wicked soared out from the airwaves.

We’ve gathered up our favourite songs chosen over the full week of chaos — they’d make a pretty great playlist, tbh.
