An eighth-grader in the UK has thrown a ‘rave’ in his school’s toilet block, complete with his very own DJ decks and speakers.

As posted by his mother on Facebook, 12-year-old Cael Bell organised the rave via Snapchat at his Manchester, UK school a week in advance, promising chocolates and soft drink for all ‘eighth-grade boys’ who came. He decked it out with lights, speakers and a deck — his mother, Louise, posted that it lasted about 30 minutes before the school teachers investigated and shut it down.

Talking to UK Tabloid The Mirror, Louise said her son had actually told her about the event the morning of, but she thought ‘nothing of it’.

“When I got the call, it made perfect sense,” she said. “Cael had been up, dressed and ready to leave for school early that morning which was unheard of in our house.

“He had the biggest smile on his face so I knew he had something up his sleeve… I asked him what he was so happy about and he told me they were having a rave in school. I thought nothing of it, I didn’t think for one minute there was any truth to it.”

With Cael’s equipment was confiscated, Louise hasn’t punished her son further.

“I had to laugh,” she said. It has been a terrible year and I couldn’t be angry with my son for trying to spread some cheer.”

“I could tell that even the [school] saw the funny side too. It sounded like they were doing their best not to laugh on the phone.”

While there’s no footage yet, Louise has posted videos of her son DJing at home. Enjoy below — and perhaps when the clubs reopen he can do a worldwide tour?
