The fallout from the latest Donald Trump controversy continues this morning, with public figures and politicians on both sides of the aisle condemning him for remarks made in 2005 in which he bragged about groping women. I believe the exact phrase used by the man who many people still think should be US President was “you can do anything. Grab them by the pussy”.

Could Bragging About Sexual Assault Finally Turn Voters Against Donald Trump For Good?

Since the comments came to light, dozens of senior Republicans have jumped ship, with many declaring that Trump should quit the race. But politicians aren’t the only people scrambling to distance themselves from The Donald. Overnight, Tic Tacs put out a carefully worded tweet making it crystal clear they want nothing to do with the billionaire or his imploding presidential campaign.

To clarify, Tic Tacs aren’t just weighing in on the scandal for the sake of it. In the offending audio, Trump can be heard talking about how he  apparently carries the breath-mints around with him, just in case he’s struck by the overwhelming desire to stick his tongue down a woman’s throat.

“I’m going to use some Tic Tacs in case I start kissing her,” Trump said, in reference to a woman he was about to meet. “I’m automatically attracted to beautiful – I just start kissing them.  It’s like a magnet. Just kiss, I don’t even wait. And when you’re a star, they let you do it. You can do anything. Grab them by the pussy. You can do anything.”

Hard as this is to believe, Tic Tacs aren’t even the first sugary treat to have to draw a line in the sand between themselves and the Republican nominee. The makers of Skittles were forced to make a similar statement after Trump’s son, Donald Jr., tweeted a nauseating meme comparing the candy to Syrian refugees.

I know this doesn’t rank all that highly on the long list of reasons why Donald Trump definitely shouldn’t be president. But even so, you’ve got to admit that losing the endorsement of multiple confectionery brands isn’t exactly a great look.
