Today, video game developers and industry professionals from around the globe gathered at The Game Awards 2018 in LA to honour their peers and listen to fumbling acceptance speeches. Though there wasn’t anybody dressed as a giant shaving razor this year, there were a ton of new game announcements and trailers.

The first new game revealed was neon-soaked pop music game Sayonara Wild Hearts, which will be coming to Nintendo Switch in 2019. We don’t currently know much about it, but it seems safe to say music is integral.

Next was a cinematic announcement trailer for Journey To The Savage Planet, coming to PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC in 2019. Typhoon Studios founder Alex Hutchinson described it an adventure game where you’re dropped on an unfamiliar planet with no gear, tasked with exploring and finding out more about the place.

Fourth-wall-breaking 2013 PC walk-em-up Stanley Parable is getting new content and a release on consoles in 2019 with expansion Stanley Parable: Ultra Deluxe.

Indie studio FJRD Interactive revealed serene-looking survival sandbox adventure game Among Trees. Coming to Steam early access in 2019, you have a little cabin you can expand as well as the ability to grow plants and cook food, so it looks right up my alley.

Hack and slash co-op game Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3: The Black Order was announced, coming exclusively to Nintendo Switch in 2019. Up to four players will be able to play as Earth’s mightiest heroes, taking on Thanos’ intergalactic crew.

Ubisoft announced post-apocalyptic game Far Cry New Dawn, coming to PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC on February 15. Set 17 years after a global nuclear event, it features ruthless scavenger leaders Mickey and Lou, known as The Twins. There’s a dog, which is nice, but it doesn’t really mitigate that icky feeling I get seeing them assault a peaceful settlement. I really wanted to be rooting for these women, not fighting them.

Supergiant Games, developers of Transistor and Bastion, revealed Greek pantheon-inspired dungeon crawler Hades. Bearing the beautiful music and visuals the studio is known for, Hades currently available in early access on the Epic Games store — a newly launched Steam competitor.

Ancestors: The Humankind Odyssey is a third-person open world survival game where you play as humanity’s early ancestors. It has been announced for PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC in 2019.

Sci-fi game Scavengers is set after Earth has succumbed to another ice age. Midwinter Entertainment’s Josh Holmes announced it as a “survival shooter co-opertition”. Yes, that is a word he said in public to people. Playtesting is starting in 2019, which players can sign up for now.

A new trailer for Anthem, BioWare’s upcoming online multiplayer role-playing shooter, places emphasis on the game’s story. Anthem is scheduled for release on PlayStation, Xbox One and PC on Feburary 22.

Crash Team Racing Nitro-Fueled, a new Crash Bandicoot racing game, was revealed. The game will be available on PlayStation 4, Xbox One and Nintendo Switch on 21 June 2019.

The studio behind Fallout: New Vegas announced first-person sci-fi role-playing game The Outer Worlds. A lot of people have said it looks like Fallout in space. Personally, I got a Bioshock Infinite by way of Borderlands vibe. It’ll be on PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC via Steam.

Hello Games, makers of No Man’s Sky, revealed a cute little adventure game with a lovely song. The Last Campfire, coming in 2019, is about a lost ember trying to get home. So far it has been confirmed for PC via Steam.

Atlas, a massively multiplayer fantasy pirate game, was announced as coming to PC via Steam on December 14. Atlas promises all the piratey action you’d expect — hunts for buried treasure, building and sailing ships, plundering settlements and hiring a loyal crew. The open world game will also be coming to Xbox One in 2019 via the Xbox Preview Program.

A new Dragon Age game from Bioware was teased. No details yet, but the last game in the series was Dragon Age: Inquisition in 2014, so fans are thrilled that something’s on the way.

The Pathless was announced, coming to the Epic Games Store and PlayStation 4 in 2019. It’s the timeless story of the bond between between archer and eagle. Also the archer is on a quest to dispel a curse of darkness on the world. I don’t know if the eagle knows that’s what they’re doing or if they’re just along for the ride, but I’m glad it’s there.

Netflix announced an isometric Stranger Things game, Stranger Things 3: The Game. It will follows season three of the series, which has not yet been released, and will be coming to PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch and PC. It looks as though it’ll be a co-op retro arcade brawler, in line with the series’ ’80s setting. No release date yet, but it’ll probably arrive some time after season three drops in 2019.

The famously graphic Mortal Kombat fighting series announced its next addition — Mortal Kombat 11. The spine-pulling simulator will launch April 23 on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch and PC.

Psychonauts 2 was previously announced at the 2015 Games Awards, but now we have our very first trailer. According to developer Double Fine, the game will follow a psychic acrobat as he becomes an international super-spy and deals with a mole in the Psychonauts organisation. It will be coming to PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC in 2019.

A new trailer for Devil May Cry 5 announced the return of the Bloody Palace mode as a free update April next year, as well as a first demo available within a day on Xbox One. The game will be released on 8 March 2019.

Fortnite introduced The Block, which will work with the game’s newly launched Creative Mode. Replacing Risky Reels, The Block is an area of Fortnite‘s map dedicated to showing off player’s creations. It will feature structures selected from the community’s projects in Creative Mode. It is live now, though empty as of writing.

The release date for RAGE 2 was finally revealed, as well as a new trailer set to ‘Ain’t It Funny’ by Danny Brown. The first-person wasteland shooter is coming to PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC on 14 May 2019.

And finally we come to the surprise reveal that made me scream a little bit: Nintendo’s Super Smash Bros. Ultimate announced Persona 5‘s protagonist Joker as a playable character in the game’s first downloadable content. I have a deep emotional connection to Persona 5, so I’m super excited to see one of my favourite heart-stealing criminals get beaten up by Kirby. Super Smash Bros. Ultimate was released today on Nintendo Switch.
