Taylor Swift sure does love surprises.

Earlier this year, with little in the way of forewarning other than a cryptic selfie with the caption, ‘Not a lot going on at the moment’, Swift dropped folklore, ostensibly her masterpiece. A far cry from the heel turn of Reputation or the bubblegum intensity of Lover, it was a sensitive, trembling work of heartache and hope. Swift had never sounded more assured.

And now, a matter of months after folklore‘s release, the artist has followed up her magnum opus with a socially distanced concert film. Called The Long Pond Studio Sessions, the documentary is directed by Taylor Swift herself, and sees performances from the album intercut with conversations with its key collaborators. If the trailer is anything to go by, the film will have a cosy, deeply melancholy vibe, like you’re staying overnight in a cabin with an ex-lover.

Better yet, the wait for Long Pond Studio Sessions is short — the film is dropping today, November 25, on Disney+. So clear out your schedule, stock up on some tissues, and get ready to feel a lot of feelings.
