Ever since she’s started dating British actor Joe Alwyn, Taylor Swift has begun to change.

Part of that is the safety and the security that the relationship has clearly afforded her. The Reputation era far behind her, Swift seems wholesome and connected in a way she never did before. But a lot of it is the undeniable fact that Taylor Swift is becoming more and more of an Anglophile.

Yep, American pop’s most quintessentially American star has gone to the land of tea, crumpets and the monarchy, and she doesn’t seem to want to turn back any time soon. First, she dropped ‘London Boy’, a paean not only to her new relationship, but to her love of England as a whole.

And now, in an interview with British Vogue, the pop star has outlined her favourite slang words, all while totally butchering the British accent. It’s a work of some considerable art, with Swift joyously shouting words like, “chuffed”, “knackered”, “well fit” and “wanker” to the delight of the genteel British host.

All pop stars must have their own distinct eras. Maybe Swift is slowly coming into her British one?

Understandably, ever since the clip went live, the internet has been having a field day.

Looks like Taylor Swift saying ‘wanker’ is all any of us needed to experience true joy.
