Just a few weeks after it revealed its huge 2022 line-up, Sydney Film Festival has added a stack more films to the mix.

Tarik Saleh’s tense thriller Boy From Heaven, which picked up Best Screenplay at this year’s Cannes Festival, is among those added to the bill. Joyland, a trans-love story which picked up the Jury Prize at Cannes and is currently sitting at 100 percent on Rotten Tomatoes, has also been added, along with the terrifying Holy Spider, the charming Tori and Lokita, and a stack more.

There’s also Stars At Noon starring Margaret Qualley and Joe Alywn getting steamy in Nicaragua, and the Queer extravaganza Will-O’-the-Wisp’ featuring gay naked dancing firemen. ‘nuff said.

The notoriously limelight avoidant Sinead O’Connor narrates a documentary uncovering her tumultuous and triumphantly self-defined career in Nothing Compares joins the Sounds on Screen strand.

The recent Palme d’Or winner, Triangle of Sadness, a satirical dark comedy starring Woody Harrelson and directed by Ruben Östland, has been added to the list as well. Word from Cannes is that it contains an outrageous bodily-fluid filled scene set to go down in cinema history and guaranteed to erupt audiences with howls of laughter. Check out the full list of additions below.

They’ll join films like Utama, We Are Still Here, Ahed’s Knee, Sissy, and so, so many more. All up, there are more than 200 films being screened over the course of the festival, representing 64 countries.

Sydney Film Festival kicks off on June 8 and runs until June 19. For all ticketing details and screening times, head to the website.
