All The Funniest Reactions To The News That Spider-Man Is Leaving The MCU
"Mr Stark... I don't feel so good."
It’s just been announced that talks between Sony and Marvel Studios have broken down regarding their partnership with the Spider-Man franchise.
Sony, very famously, went into cahoots with Marvel and Disney, and loaned the beautiful Tom Holland era Spider-Man to the Avengers franchise. This meant the Marvel Cinematic Universe got Spidey in Captain America: Civil War, as well as Avengers: Infinity War and Avengers: Endgame.
The two Spider-Man solo films, Homecoming and Far From Home were inextricably linked to the MCU too, with the latter literally dealing with the fallout from Avengers: Endgame.
According to Deadline, Disney had reportedly asked to share co-financing on future Spider-Man films 50-50, while Sony wanted the financing arrangement to stay the same as it has been on Homecoming and Far From Home.
Anyway! Whatever. On the one hand, we should be thankful that Disney doesn’t own literally everything in the entire world, and we could almost treat Sony as a scrappy indie upstart. On the other hand, the MCU is made infinitely better by the gentle Spider-boy, and I want him to hang out with all the other dorks.
So, some people are very sad, some people are taking the news with equity, but here’s all the people taking it with grace and humour:

If Sony had any brains they’d get Sam Raimi to pick up where he left off and act like nothing has happened since 2007. Tobey Maguire (44) plays Spider-Man. Dylan Baker is the Lizard. Chad Kroeger and Josey Scott reunite for “Hero II (The Eagle’s Web)”
