Most of us on this fair earth simply wander through life, not making an impact, barely leaving any footprints, content to just exist. And then there are those special people who go above and beyond, who push themselves to achieve greatness, to change the world.

This is not one of those times, but it’s still pretty great.

In the wake of Gladys Berejiklian’s head-in-the-sand speech about pill testing following the tragic overdoses at Defqon.1 earlier this month, two local hardstyle producers — N3bula and Twisted Melodiez — decided to give her words a bit of a spruce up…in the form of a crushing dance banger.

The remix is appropriately titled ‘Shut This Down’ — referencing Berejiklian’s promise to close down Defqon.1 for good — and it’s already clocked up well over 130,000 views on N3bula’s Facebook. Get around it below.

A few days ago, more than 100 music industry representatives signed an open letter to Berejiklian urging her to reconsider her position on health and safety issues at festivals. It came after Berejiklians announced the formation of a “high level expert” panel to advise the government on drug safety at music festivals.

The panel is comprised of health professionals and Police Commissioner Mick Fuller, and the Chair of the Independent Office of Liquor & Gaming, Philip Crawford — but no one from the NSW music industry. Go figure.
