Seth Rogen And Lonely Island Are Making A Movie About A Disastrous Fyre-Style Festival
Good timing.
Just when you thought the news around Fyre Festival couldn’t get any wilder, Seth Rogen has dropped a bombshell.
According to the actor, he and The Lonely Island are currently working on a movie about a music festival that goes disastrously wrong. If you don’t understand why this is insanely fortuitous timing, then congratulations on that rock that you’ve been living under, it sure is sturdy.
For those of you in the dark, I’ll make this quick: over the weekend Ja Rule and a start-up bro threw a music festival for rich kids. It did not go well.
According to Rogen, the movie has been in the pipeline since before shit hit the fan in the Bahamas, tweeting on Saturday that “this seems like a good time to mention the movie we are making with @lonelyisland about a music festival that goes HORRIBLY WRONG.”
The comedy band tweeted back a short time later, saying they were thinking of taking legal action against Fyre Festival “for stealing our idea.”

For real, thinking about suing #FyreFestival for stealing our idea. https://t.co/uiLxhzLg85

Of course it’s possible that Rogen and The Lonely Island are just fucking with us. Either that, or the entire Fyre fiasco was actually the single greatest viral marketing stunt of all time.
Assuming the movie is legit, however, they’re going to have a hell of a time making it more absurd than the real thing.
