Icon of film and television Sally Field is not only an award winning actress, she’s clearly an award winning mother, judging by her extremely pure matchmaking of her son and Olympic figure skater Adam Rippon.

Last week, Sally Field’s son Sam Greisman went viral after he Tweeted a text-message exchange between him and his mum, in which the 30-year-old filmmaker was given some excellent dating advice. The two were clearly watching Adam Rippon competing in the Winter Olympics, and we can only assume Greisman’s original messages were quite thirsty.

Field’s advice was “Sam… he’s insanely pretty. Find a way…” and it is honestly the most perfect and inspirational advice to anyone who’s looking for love, let alone your son.

And while this is cute enough, Sally Field absolutely escalated matters, when she retweeted Greisman’s Tweet and tagged Adam Rippon himself in it. Mum! Oh my god, so embarrassing.

Sally was undaunted by her son’s incredible dismay at her unsubtle matchmaking, telling Buzzfeed that while while “Sam was mortified” and she has to butt out, she would “like to see Adam in the family.” This is a next-level mum, honestly.

Sally Field already has an established history of being a supremely aspirational parent of a gay son, as revealed by the 2012 Ally for Equality Award that Greisman presented to his mother. Greisman said at the awards:

“When I came out, she didn’t bat an eye,” he said. “In fact, she was overjoyed. Being gay was just one more thing she loved about me. She couldn’t be more supportive of me; if anything, I wish she was a little less supportive of me.”

He also added that he had to sit her down and tell her that there were some things about his dating life that he could just not share with her.

But it looks as if this perfect mum-sponsored romance might lead somewhere after all, with Rippon responding delightedly to the whole thing saying first that he admired Sam’s mum, and that he was “sure that one day we’re going to meet — so thanks mum!”.

Frankly, I think Sally Fields could make a lot of money as a queer matchmaker, and I’d like to volunteer for her services.
