It’s Looking Like Pubs By July

Prime Minister Scott Morrison has just announced a three-step plan to ease COVID-19 restrictions in Australia over the next few months.
Scott Morrison says the national cabinet has agreed that it hopes to have moved through these steps by July — but the pace will be up to states and territories. Both Victoria and NSW will not be announcing any changes until Monday.
Under the first stage, people can gather in groups of 10 in public places, and cafes and restaurants will reopen — however, while this is looking to happen in May, the relaxing of restrictions has not come into play yet.
THE ROADMAP TO A COVIDSAFE AUSTRALIA IN THREE STAGES:

The second stage will allow gatherings of up to 20 people, and include the opening of gyms, beauty shops, cinemas, galleries and amusement parks, as well as caravan parks and camping grounds. Some interstate travel will also be allowed.

A third stage would include gatherings of up to 100 people, the opening of nightclubs, food courts and saunas, and all interstate travel as well as the possibility of travel to New Zealand.

But people have really focused on one particular inference of the third stage: baby, it’s looking like pubs by July.
Step 2: beauty parlours, small community sport. Barre is on
Step 3: gatherings of up to 100 people. Pubs clubs and interstate travel.

A bit weird that the government roadmap for easing restrictions is repeatedly extremely clear on referencing the step-by-step application to brothels and saunas, but doesn't mention pubs even once.

Dry July is cancelled this year #pubs

When they say “pubs by July” do they mean pubs will be open in the beginning of July or at the end of July? This is important for birthday reasons.

is anyone else mildly terrified of what they'll do when pubs open again, like will I fall off a table dancing, will I kiss a potplant, will I flat out forget my name again and try to rebrand as my sister which I allegedly once did after a few too many shots

My 25th birthday is July 10. If the pub is open for then I will cry with joy. #PubInJuly

I propose a day in July where we celebrate the opening of pubs – perhaps some kind of independence day

Pubs.
