Recorded for the most part out of his California garage, comedian Marc Maron’s top-rated podcast WTF  is one of the most consistently honest longform interview series you’ll find. Twice weekly, Maron deep-dives into the private lives and emotional trials of comedians, writers and entertainment industry names, offering brutally honest analyses of his own struggles with depression, addiction and every day living in order to meet his guests halfway.

His interview with Robin Williams in 2010 got a viral afterlife after the actor and comedian committed suicide last year; Williams had opened up about his mental health and suicidal thoughts, in a conversation which Maron later revealed had huge consequences for his own life. In another notable pair of episodes, Maron and Louis CK discuss a long and painful period of falling out in their friendship, which had left each feeling deserted by the other; the conversation has since been re-enacted on Louie.

Maron has spent six years refining his alarmingly honest and raw interview technique — which makes his next episode one the internet will likely go nuts for: a chat with President Barack Obama.

Maron revealed his upcoming guest in the latest episode of his podcast, #612 with Judd Apatow: “On Monday, I will post a WTF … featuring myself in conversation, talking to, at my home, in my garage … me, talking to the President of the United States of America.”

The interview will be the latest move in a long game Obama has been playing with the web’s potential for virality — a strategy that’s also included an appearance on Zach Galifianakis’ Between Two Fernsa Reddit AMA, and an interview with Buzzfeed. “Oh my God, I hope my bathroom’s clean,” Maron said. “We let the neighbours know. My producer has been at the house dealing with secret service. My street is going to be incredibly safe for the next few days.”

If all goes to plan (and it very well may not; the president and the nation are still reeling from the Charleston Church shooting in South Carolina), the episode will be uploaded on Monday; Maron called Obama “an incredibly brilliant and interesting man, with a life that I”m going to talk about”.
