A new meme popped up yesterday featuring Pope Francis and very simple format, but it is delivering some wholesome laughs. 

It is not very often that the Pope or the Catholic Church goes viral for a reason that is fun to talk about, but in a miraculous turn of events, we have been blessed with a viral wholesome Pope meme. It’s impossible to say why some memes go viral and some don’t, but people are having a lot of fun with the direct simplicity of this one.

Made up of four frames featuring Pope Francis’s head and hands offering something with a look of complete spiritual divinity, it allows people to add in whatever item they desire. It’s the perfect format for people to add in things they love.

But then obviously, due to it being the Internet, it also allows things to get a bit more out there.

People have used the meme to make a point, adding in the famous photo of Sinéad O’Connor tearing up a picture of the Pope on SNL:

And used the meme to be incredibly silly, adding in the Spiderman kiss and….Jason Derulo.

They even added in some of their favourite Tweets.

It’s so simple, it’s so silly, and that is the sort of thing I am personally hankering for in this current year of 2020. Bless you.
