Pass It On: Jimmy Fallon’s 1998 SNL Audition Tape Is Adorable, Incredible

So many impressions! So much babyface!

America is mere hours away from Jimmy Fallon’s much-anticipated debut hosting The Tonight Show, and the internet is pulling all kinds of clips from the archive in the lead-up.

Here’s the stand-out: the teensy 24-year-old’s SNL audition, in which he performs a celebrity walk-a-thon of impressions in front of the infamously intimidating panel headed by Lorne Michaels. He whirs through John Travolta, Jerry Seinfeld, Kramer, Adam Sandler and Bill Cosby, before showing off a few original characters, musical impressions (Alanis Morissette!) and skit ideas.

Double-take guy is my favourite.

Also from the archives? This photo from his long-abandoned modelling career. SMOLDERING.
