OneFour, one of the most exciting and important acts in Australia right now, have spent the last 12 months moving from strength to strength. And now they’re taking things to the next level, thanks to a feature with American rapper A$AP Ferg.

The Mt. Druitt-based rap group have amassed a massive fanbase over the course of 2019, thanks to their incendiary beats and their excellent music videos.

At the same time, they’ve also received a great degree of pushback from this country’s law enforcement. The band’s Australian tour was cancelled due to police pressure, and the NSW police force have gone on the record to make disparaging comments towards the band.

That makes the Ferg collaboration even harder won. And it all happened thanks to a chance encounter behind the scenes at triple j.

It was triple j host Hau Latukefu who provided the link-up. As reported by ABC, Latukefu had heard that Ferg was a OneFour fan, and used an interview with him as an opportunity to get the acts on each other’s radar.

“Ferg said he’d be into doing a song together or at least link up,” Latukefu told Al Newstead. “So, I connected his management with OneFour’s management and they met up at the studio that same night. The guys recorded, shot the film clip the very next day and viola, we have one of the biggest collaborations to date between an Australian artist and a US artist.”

Better yet, the collab, titled ‘Say It Again’, is a fiery and powerful track — a wonderful combining of two very distinct talents. Drink it up:
