In 2003, a trashy but sweet reality TV show in which sophisticated gay men educated heterosexual men about how to be more stylish and cultured seemed to completely consume the pop culture conversation. Now, for whatever reason, Queer Eye For The Straight Guy is coming back.

If you need a reminder of the specific joy of Queer Eye, please enjoy this episode from 2004 called ‘Renew The Retiree’.

Netflix have announced that they are reviving the show for eight episodes (it’s unclear at this stage if the original hosts will return, pray for Carson) with producers of the reboot citing the reason for its return being “a divided America in need of healing, and the need for a new Fab 5 of style consultants to help ‘Make America Fabulous Again’.”

The original Queer Eye relied very heavily on stereotypes that may not fly anymore, but gee, healing does sound nice. All things just keep getting bettttter.
