After photos emerged on Friday of Miley Cyrus pashing Cody Simpson, the pop star has posted a blistering attack on sexism and slut-shaming.
Taking to Twitter on Saturday, Cyrus wrote about the double standards between the way we treat celebrity men and women, dating in the public eye. She wrote that the blokes get called “legends” for “mov[ing] on from one beautiful young woman to the next”, while women are describes as “sluts”.

In the tweets, she also addressed the fact that celebrity includes a lack of privacy. The public have “watched [her] grow up”, which makes us feel entitled to know about her private life. But, she insisted, she’s not going to date behind closed doors, at home.
Instead, Cyrus noted that she’s learning how to date for what is effectively the first time. She concluded with the hashtag #HotGirlFall:
“PLEASE don’t make this awkward for me!! I am trying to make light and like always MAKE FUN of myself / and the public’s perception of me ! Get used to me dating – this is where I am at !”
With the post Cyrus also coined the already iconic sentence: “can’t I just have a kiss and acai bowl!?!?!” Feeling extremely seen right now.
Her callout has garnered the approval of folks like Kendall Jenner.

Miley Cyrus gives zero fucks about anyone knowing that she’s pashing the Aussie bloke, who two weeks ago was pegged as the Robot on The Masked Singer. Their romance comes in the wake of her split from her partner of ten years, Liam Hemsworth, who is also definitely on The Masked Singer.
She posted a series of Stories with Simpson on Friday, calling the singer and swimmer her “type”. “Can a girl not get a fucking acai bowl and a morning make out session in peace?” she added later.
Meanwhile, Simpson posted an Instagram PDA with Cyrus overnight – a woman he described as his celebrity crush way back in 2012.
