Miles Teller, Kate Mara And Michael B Jordan Get Scary In The New ‘Fantastic Four’ Trailer
Gritty reboot or shitty reboot? Time will tell.
Fans have been worried that FOX’s upcoming Fantastic Four reboot will turn out to be a big ol’ pile of garbage for a while, especially because director Josh Trank has indicated he’ll be intentionally departing from the comic books. Others have argued the film doesn’t need to religiously adhere to the source material to be a faithful adaptation, but until now there’s not been a lot of evidence from the actual film one way or the other.
The new trailer, which is dark and gritty as hell and feels more like a sci-fi horror flick a la Event Horizon than a Marvel superhero caper, should give people on both sides of the fence a lot to chew on.
For people not into the Fantastic Four backstory: look, that guy from Whiplash! That woman from House of Cards! That guy whose casting as the Human Torch was met with a hideous backlash because people can be grossly racist over very trivial things! (Seriously, don’t read the comments under this video on YouTube if you want to smile today.)
