Watch Matt Damon Absolutely Ace An Impersonation Of US Judge Facing Sexual Assault Allegations

Saturday Night Live has used its cold open to rehash the recent US senate hearings with Supreme Court nomimee Brett Kavanaugh. And they’ve used Matt Damon to play the part of the judge, as he faces an FBI investigation into allegations he assaulted a 15 year old woman when he was in high school.

Damon appeared as Kavanaugh in a hearing where he faced questions from actors playing a range of key political figures in the saga, including Republican Lindsay Graham and Democrat Diane Feinstein.

Kavanaugh appeared angry and frustrated when he faced the senate’s questions, saying the accusations against him were politically motivated. He has been widely criticised for saying “I like beer” when asked whether he drunk in high school, and replying “have you?” to a senator who asked him whether he ever blacked out from drinking too much alcohol.

And that gave Damon plenty of ammo to perform, and in classic Saturday Night Live style he exaggerated a lot of the features of Kavanaugh’s testimony when acting in the cold open.

“I’m a keg-is-half-full kinda guy,” Damon said in his opening statement. “But what I’ve seen from the monsters on this committee makes me want to puke… and not from beer!”

“I’m not backing down you sons of bitches. I don’t know the meaning of the word stop,” he continued.

Kavanaugh has been accused of forcing himself onto then-15 year old Christine Blasey Ford, who says she was able to escape from the room and leave the house party before Kavanaugh could remove her clothes. She has offered up sworn testimonies from those she has talked about the alleged assault to, and told the senate hearing that she was “100 percent” sure Kavanaugh was the person who assaulted her.

Kavanaugh has offered up a detailed calendar from the year of the assault, which does not name a party that Ford could say she was at, and suggests that he was out of town for much of the summer.
