Jock From ‘MasterChef’ Just Publicly Dragged A Troll Who Sent Him Racist Slurs About Melissa
"Graham, please get educated and be a better human."
There’s no denying that this season of MasterChef has been great for representation and diversity.
But while we’ve seen more non-white contestants and judges get the spotlight this year, people haven’t been shy in airing their racist feelings towards this change.
While criticism has often been that Back To Win is becoming “too Asian”, a lot of hate is being directed towards Melissa Leong, with people claiming that favouritism is being shown at the detriment to the white contestants.
Well, last night an angry fan decided to take it a step further and air their grievances with this season of MasterChef in Jock Zonfrillo’s direct messages. But after using racist slurs to refer to Melissa, Jock decided to publicly drag the shit out of “Graham Jones” for his totally uncalled for and gross message.
“Geez I will be glad when this dumb arse MasterChef finishes. I wouldn’t watch it but sick of while [sic] watching other 10 programs,” the message read.
“Having to watch trailers of you and that painful g**k criticise what is put in front of you because a pea is in the wrong place,” the message continued. “Half the stuff no one would ever make. Geez, you are so far up yourselves.”
Posting the screenshot to his Instagram page with over 94,000 followers, Jock went in on the racist troll.
“Where to begin with this… Firstly I can only assume you are referring to @fooderati when you used the term ‘g**k’…. she’s actually Melissa, she’s my work wife, my sister, my mate,” Jock captioned the photo. “She drinks espresso like I do, she is able to express and articulate a damn sight better than you can clearly and that is just the beginning, Graham.”
“She’s a woman whose origin happens to be different than yours, but why does that make you so afraid?” Jock continued. “I feel sorry for you that you cannot see past the colour of someone’s skin or actually the fact they are just different than your white ass in any way.”
Ending the searing burn, Jock suggested that Graham “get educated and be a better human” before warning other racists thinking of messaging him similar rants.
“You owe it to yourself and everyone around you who are most probably too embarrassed by the shit you say to let you know,” Jock concluded. “I’m sick of this type of thing getting sent to me, so here’s a heads up… if you send this kind of shit to me, it’s getting called out.”
Adding to the conversation, in the most cool, calm and collected way, Melissa shared Jock’s post to her story and took the opportunity to edit Graham’s bad grammar and total lack of sentence structure.
“I couldn’t help myself, I had to mark this one up,” Melissa wrote on her story. “Grammar is the difference between knowing your shit, and knowing you’re shit.”
Ugh, icons honestly.
MasterChef: Back To Win returns tonight at 7.30pm on Channel 10.
