The correct response upon hearing the words ‘mash-up’ is to run as far away from the speakers as possible — but we might have found an exception to the rule.

YouTube user Oneboredjeu has taken two modern pop classics — Sia’s 2004 track ‘Breathe Me’ and Lorde’s Melodrama track ‘Supercut’ — and blended them into three minutes of unexpected bliss. Hear it below.

It’s not Oneboredjeu’s first mash-up rodeo — she’s previously put together Carly Rae Jepsen’s ‘Call Me Maybe’ with DMX’s ‘Gon Give It To Ya’, Ed Sheeran’s ‘Shape Of You’ and Disturbed’s ‘Down With The Sickness’ and (most impressively) the Thomas Tank Engine theme song with ‘I Write Sins Not Tragedies’ by Panic At The Disco. A varied repertoire, to say the least.

As for Sia and Lorde, it won’t be long until we both see them up close and personal. Sia is due to touch down in Australia for her ‘Nostalgia For The Present’ tour in November, while Lorde will headline Spilt Milk festival in Canberra and play a string of solo shows in the same month.
