Confession time: I’m a hardcore Disney maniac.

That used to mean watching the classic films over and over again (I’ve seen all of them 17 times), but now I can also indulge my Star Wars and Super Hero obsessions too. So going to Disneyland Resort in California is a no-brainer. It’s my home away from home. My Ancient Sanctum, if you will.

I’ve been a bunch of times, but I feel like I’ve only scratched the surface of what the Parks and Resorts actually have to offer because there are so many things to do at Disneyland Resort. Between the attractions, dining options, and general good vibes, there’s something for everyone. Whether you’re obsessed with The Avengers, the epic adventures of Star Wars, or you love Pixar and classic Disney movies, Disneyland Resort has you covered. It’s called The Happiest Place on Earth for a reason.

It’s hard to know where to even begin when it comes to curating your own Disneyland Resort experience — don’t forget that there are two Parks (Disneyland Park & Disney California Adventure Park), Downtown Disney District and Disneyland Resort Hotels to cover. So, I’ve carefully and scientifically organised activities based on whatever you’re most into. This is the Disneyland Resort checklist to end all checklists — keep it handy when you make plans to visit (trust us, you’ll need a minimum of three days) this year. You’ll thank us later.

**Your Own Star Wars Story**

Time to start living your own Star Wars adventure. Experience some of your favourite parts of the stories you love, and be truly immersed in a dedicated land that brings you closer to the epic Star Wars universe than ever before.

You’ve never been closer to the epic saga than at Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge — a place totally dedicated to the Star Wars universe. Experience spectacular attractions, eat from across the galaxy and maybe even cross paths with some of your favourite Characters.

Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run

Ride in the famous cockpit of the Millennium Falcon on Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run, where you can help pilot your own mission as you jump into hyperspace on a daring mission across the galaxy — Han Solo-style. Deep space can be a dangerous place, so whether you’re sitting in the captain’s chair or a member of the crew, you’ll want to stay focussed. In case it’s your first time in a spaceship, there’s a flight crew tutorial!

Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance

Join the Resistance in an epic battle against the First Order and Kylo Ren. On this exciting and first-of-its-kind attraction, you’ll join this truly awe-inspiring mission helping Rey, BB-8 and The Resistance to fight to save the galaxy. It won’t be easy — the First Order are determined to stop you. Learn to expect the unexpected because there are some serious surprises on this mission!

Meet Some Of Your Favourite Characters

Where else can you walk around and encounter The Mandalorian, Grogu, Chewbacca and other classic citizens of the galaxy?

Season of the Force

Running from now until the 2nd of June this year, this limited-time celebration features a collection of specially updated attractions (Hyperspace Mountain!), specially themed food and beverage and even more that puts you in the middle of the adventure. Even better, on select nights you may get to experience the nighttime firework spectacular in the sky over Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge. If you want the full Star Wars experience, be sure to secure (for an additional fee) tickets to Disneyland After Dark: Star Wars Nite where on select nights from the 16^th of April through to the 9^th of May you can take advantage of special Character sightings, event-themed food and exciting entertainment.

Earth’s Mightiest Heroes

Want to be in The Avengers but don’t have any superpowers? That’s not a problem at Disney California Adventure Park where you can head to Avengers Campus, fight crime alongside Spider-Man or eat an iconic shawarma after a tough battle at the Super Hero team’s base of operations.

Guardians of the Galaxy – Mission: BREAKOUT!

While you’re at the Avengers Headquarters, head to Guardians of the Galaxy — Mission: BREAKOUT! where Star-Lord, Gamora, Drax, and Groot have been captured by The Collector. You need to help Rocket rescue them in this thrilling attraction. I hope you’re up to it!

WEB SLINGERS: A Spider-Man Adventure

The Spider-Bots have escaped from Peter Parker’s workshop and it’s up to you and Spider-Man to round them all up! Only issue is… they seem to be getting smarter as the attraction goes along!

Meet Some Of Your Favourite Super Heroes

You might encounter Iron Man or Black Widow while you defend the Avengers’ home. Pro tip: for best results, train with Black Panther’s bodyguards. How does Doctor Strange do that swirly sparkly portal thing? Find out in the most mystical corner of the world at the Ancient Sanctum. Just be careful not to get trapped in the far reaches of the multiverse!

Get In Your Feels With Pixar

Toy Story, The Incredibles, Inside Out… Pixar’s iconic stories come to life and you’ll never want to get back to reality.

Pixar Fest

From the 26^th of April to the 4^th of August, join the limited-time Pixar celebration of friendship that will thrill you with a special nighttime spectacular, the chance to meet some of your favourite Characters, a new daytime parade, exclusive food and beverages and so much more!

Incredicoaster

Jack-Jack won’t stop teleporting and wreaking havoc, so you’ve got to get on this roller coaster and join the high-speed chase as you race after him with the help of your favourite Super Hero family.

Toy Story Midway Mania!

Spin your way through Andy’s toy-filled bedroom as you fire your Spring-Action Launcher at a variety of flying objects in this midway-style attraction! Keep an eye out for Buzz, Woody and the rest of the toys!

Radiator Springs Racers

Head over to a whole land dedicated to one of the most beloved Pixar franchises, Cars. When you’re there, be sure to kick the fun into overdrive as you channel your inner Lightning McQueen in a high-speed race through the desert. Ka-chow!

Pixar Place Hotel

In this recently reimagined resort hotel that’s just across from Disney California Adventure Park, stay in a room inspired by some of your favourite stories and be immersed in the world of Pixar with its Characters and creative process.

Some Things Are Fun Forever

The best attraction I’ve ever been on was Peter Pan’s Flight. As a child, it was thrilling and honestly? I’ve spent most of my life trying to recreate that magic. So any Disneyland Resort itinerary has gotta include the classics.

Haunted Mansion

Frightful fun for the whole family, this tour brings you face-to-face with singing and dancing ghosts and a super spooky séance.

Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway

Join the famous couple on this wild ride through a cartoon landscape. But hold on tight. With Goofy behind the wheel, things might go off the rails!

Nighttime Spectaculars

In the evening, you might experience nighttime spectaculars including World of Color, a breathtaking water and pyrotechnics show, and Fireworks above the Disneyland Park castle on select nights, which are truly amazing.

Matterhorn Bobsleds

If you like your mayhem mountainous, you’ll want to strap into this ride as you hurtle through a snow-capped mountain on a speeding alpine sled. Watch out for the abominable snowman. He’s not messing around.

Big Thunder Mountain Railroad

You won’t find gold on this speeding roller coaster through a 19th-century haunted mine, but you will find the meaning of a true thrill along this rickety sounding track. This is fast, bumpy, and truly amazing. Highly recommend.
