This Year’s Logies Nominations Are Here To Ruin Everyone’s Day
Haven't we suffered enough?
I don’t know about you, but since last year’s Logies ceremony, I’ve been waiting desperately to know what delights this year’s nominations would bring. After all, who can forget that classic Logies moment when… well… Sonia Kruger… was… there?
And I want more of that magic!
Before today, I was positively catatonic with uncertainty. Would Sonia Kruger be nominated once again? What about Hamish Blake? And how about… Sonia Kruger? And what of Hamish Blake? Would he get a look in this year? Could Sonia Kruger sit this one out? And yet, isn’t Hamish Blake right there, waiting in the wings?
It’s questions like these that made this year’s Logies nominations so compelling. And now that nominations have been released, we can confirm that the answers to these questions are yes, yes, and yes. And yes.
But those questions have only given way to new ones. What were Sonia Kruger and Hamish Blake nominated for? I’ve read the nominations several times and I still don’t know. But it’s wonderful all the same.
Speaking of wonderful, according to the Sydney Morning Herald, the Logies will be hosted by Sam Pang, who will become “the first Logies Awards host in 11 years”. I didn’t realise the Logies had gone hostless for so long, but congratulations to Sam Pang! What had they been doing between categories all this time? Hosting an open mic? Entertaining the crowd with strobe lights?
It doesn’t matter, and it’s not the point. Without further ado, allow me, to announce the 2023 Logie Award Nominees.
