Legendary Actress Debbie Reynolds Has Died A Day After Her Daughter Carrie Fisher

Debbie Reynolds, legendary Hollywood actress and the mother of Star Wars star Carrie Fisher, has passed away at the age of 84. The death of the screen icon, best known for her roles in Singin’ in the Rain and Bundle of Joy, comes just a day after the passing of her daughter, and has once again left her family and the movie world in mourning.
According to reports, Reynolds suffered a stroke while she and her son Todd were making funeral arrangements for Fisher. She was rushed to hospital, but later died. Variety spoke to Todd, who told them “she wanted to be with Carrie.”
The Oscar- and Golden Globe-nominated actress worked in the industry for more than six decades and appeared in dozens of films and television programs. Among her more memorable screen appearances in recent years was her recurring role in Will & Grace as Grace’s mother Bobbi Adler.
A number of notable entertainment figures have already taken to social media to express their grief.
