John Boyega is one of the break-out heroes of the new Star Wars films for a reason: he’s just so goddamn loveable.
Not everybody’s built for the rigours of the press tour — it involves a lot of staring politely at cameras while you get asked an avalanche of the same questions, over and over.
But Boyega is like the Picasso of press junkets. He’s an artisan of amiable, polite conversation. And a king when it comes to doing some dumb shit, and looking like the world’s most loveable man while he does it.
To that end, watching Boyega huck down a series of increasingly spicy wings while on the immensely popular YouTube talkshow Hot Ones is like standing back while Michelangelo goes to town on a cube of marble. It’s a craftsman practising his craft at another level, and every minute of it will melt your heart all over again.
