Voting opens in less than a week, on December 14, which means that you have only a few days to start coming up with your shortlist. Are you a Billie Eilish stan, ready to send ‘Happier Than Ever’ skyrocketing to the top of the charts? Or are you still bopping along to the Wiggles’ incredible cover version of ‘Elephant’ by Tame Impala? Whatever music got you through this year, the Hottest 100 provides an invaluable opportunity to pay tribute to those artists that you could not live without.
Better yet, this year’s countdown is taking place over an entire weekend. Yep, you’ll be able to spend your time from January 21 to January 23 glued to your radio, soaking in the classics that this year provided us with.
First up is the Hottest 200 of the year, which will go down on Friday January 21. That’s a shake-up to usual proceedings — in the past, the Hottest 200 has happened after the Hottest 100.
Then, on Saturday January 22, you’ll get the actual Hottest 100 countdown. When that’s over and done with, the day after, on Sunday January 23, you’ll be treated to a gorgeous serve of nostalgia in the form of Double J’s Hottest 100 of 2001.
